DAY 1 - TEAMS REGISTRATION - OFFICIAL PRACTICE AND MODELS PROCESSING - TEAM MANAGERS MEETING

Well, here we are....  The 2012 FAI/F3A European Championship is beginning tomorrow with the Opening Ceremony scheduled at 4.30 pm.
I just joined the Team yesterday in the late afternoon to see a few practice flights ...... by 35℃ !
Temperature is very hot at this moment in France, and as expected, we had some light rain in the early morning, specially during the official practice flight of the Austrian junior Lukas DIETRICH, and then in the afternoon, we had some heavy rain with wind, delaying the practice flights.
After clearing everything we went to the models processing around 10.50 am, and had then the Official practice flights at 11.40 am.
After a sound check, every pilot had a 10 mn slot for practicing.
First to fly was CPLR then Loïc BURBAUD followed by Fabien TURPAUD.
After some Team pics and a quick lunch at the local restaurant, very good food by the way, we went to an alternate field for practicing. But unfortunately we had to stay for two hours in the local hangar, waiting for the storm and the rain stop.
It was a good opportunity for FR3 local, a TV Channel, and La Nouvelle Republique, a local newspaper, to take some pics and have an interview of Christophe PAYSANT-LE ROUX.
Around 4.30 pm the weather was ok to have some training flights.
I left the guys still practicing around 7 pm to go back to the Championship field distant from 30 km, where the Contest Director Pierre PIGNOT and the Jury, Michael RAMEL, President, Bruno DELOR and Massimo SEMOLI were holding the Team Managers Meeting.
We had some very interesting informations by Pierre PIGNOT regarding the contest, and then Michael RAMEL answered to a few questions.
After that, it was time for me to have diner and to post a few comments and pics about this first day.
I will try every evening to post some informations, so stay tuned.......
